Daily Prayer for May 2017
Our Daily Prayer for for May continues our focus on Jesus as the Bread of Life. Jesus said, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty.” John 6:35. By boldly declaring that he is the Bread of Life, Jesus is saying that he alone is the means by which we can obtain eternal life. Choosing Jesus is essential for eternal life. Incorporate these thoughts into your daily prayer and devotions and see how God will work in your life!
Heavenly Father, I thank you for being my Savior and my God; I thank you for your Holy Spirit that dwells inside me; and I thank you for being the Bread of Life. Lord, help me to remember that your Word is what I need to eat to sustain my spiritual life. Help me to never forget that you are the manna for my soul that God promised. Help me to freely eat of the Bread of Life by living my life every day in accordance with your principals and your Word. Help me to seek to be like you in every area of my life and to choose you again and again. Because you are the Bread of Life, help me to partake of you each day by praying, reading your word and obeying the leading of the Holy Spirit. Jesus, please nourish me spiritually every day of my life. In your precious name, Jesus. Amen.

Prayer Request List for May 2017
As you pray daily, please including the following:
- Pray for President Trump and his administration that God will give them wisdom and guidance
- Pray for Christians who are being persecuted for their faith
- Pray for the nation of Israel
- Pray for victims of crime and abuse and that those who are missing will be returned safely
- Pray for first responders, our military, and others who risk their lives for us
- Pray that God will protect Christian missionaries and other humanitarian workers
- Pray for the less fortunate that God will bring deliverance to them
- Pray that God will work a medical or financial miracle in someone’s life
- Pray for those who are fighting addiction that they will be delivered
- Pray that terrorists and criminals will come to Christ
- Pray for those who are suffering emotional distress
- Pray for God’s will to be done in our lives
- Pray for God’s coming Kingdom
- Pray that Christians worldwide will catch fire for the Lord!
- Pray that unsaved family and friends will choose Jesus today!

Why Do We Pray
We pray to acknowledge our Lord Jesus Christ who has called us to live a blameless life.
We pray for power, joy, and peace so that flesh will be put aside and anger will cease.
We pray to have a close relationship with the Lord, resulting in endless blessings and rewards.
We pray for protection against the enemy who constantly sets traps that we don’t always see.
We pray against wickedness all around and that lost souls through salvation can be found.
We pray for his will to be done because we are living in the last days and Jesus is soon to come.
